Daily Announcements
April 30, 2009 Dear Parents and Guardians, As you are no doubt aware, there are now confirmed cases of H1N1 (swine flu) within Maine and a school in Kennebunk has been closed as a result. Peter Buckley and I have spoken with our school nurse to review all of our plans regarding protocols for communicable diseases and pandemic flu. We have been in close communication with the Department of Education and the Maine CDC as well. Please be assured we are monitoring the situation closely while maintaining regular school programs. Should anything change we will inform you with updates and messages. In the meantime we are following recommendations to practice good health habits and review them with your child. A flyer prepared by our school health staff is attached as a reminder. If you have particular questions please contact Mrs. Hartzell through the school phone number. For the most up to date information we are directing everyone to the state or national CDC websites. Thank you for your attention to this information. Sincerely, Elaine M. Tomaszewski Superintendent of Schools
